Bronxville Schools Superintendent Roy Montesano issued a notice to parents on Wednesday, Nov. 11 advising that the district learned that a member of the school community who has several children in school has tested positive for the virus.
Montesano said that the family - all of whom were asymptomatic - quarantined upon learning of the first positive test, and late on Wednesday afternoon, two of the children received confirmation of positive tests.
The children have not been in the Bronxville School since Friday, Nov. 6.
School and health officials conducted contact tracing and determined that since the children had not been in the building since last week, there was no further risk of exposure to COVID-19 to staffers or other students.
“As we have promised, this information is being shared to underscore the importance that we all need to work together to keep each other safe,” Montesano said. “We continue to ask you to adhere to social distancing, mask-wearing, and handwashing protocols. With the holiday season upon us, this becomes even more important.”
